Dr. Andi Johnston Green

Andi Johnston Green is completing her 30th year as a credentialed athletic trainer.  A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Andi grew up in Greenville, Texas as the youngest of Lt. Commandeer (Retired) Jack Johnston and Helen Johnston's 5 children.  She received her BS from Tarleton State University where she worked under the guidance of Dr. Steven Simpson.  Andi then completed her M.Ed. at Southwest Texas State University while working for SportCare/HealthSouth providing care for Concordia University - Texas as well as local high schools on a prn basis.  

Starting in 1995, Dr. Green began working for the Hays Consolidated ISD first at Jack C. Hays HS as an Assistant AT and then at Lehman HS where she served as the Head AT, Sports Medicine Instructor, as well as Girls' Athletic Coordinator.  After one semester at Austin HS, she returned to Lehman as a Health Science Instructor, a position she held until 2015 when she joined the faculty at Texas State University.  While working at Texas State, Andi served as the Iota Tau Alpha sponsor while teaching a variety of athletic training classes and.  It was during this time that Dr. Green returned to school and earned her DAT from AT Still University in 2019.  

Upon graduation from AT Still, Dr. Green returned to Tarleton State as an Assistant Professor for their MSAT program.  Since she has arrived on campus, Andi has been named Program Director as well as currently serves as Chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance.

Andi's service to the athletic training profession has included time as a member of the AAATA including serving as contests chair as well as the President in 2006-2007.  She additionally has held positions in the CTATS organization including public relations as well as her current role as Stephenville/Brownwood area representative.  Andi has volunteered with SWATA and NATA with symposium registrations and setup.  Dr. Green currently serves the TSATA on both the Sport Medicine Curriculum Committee and the Education Committee working towards Apprentice Endorsement.  

Outside of the profession, Andi has been active with the Hays County Relay for Life serving several years as the event Co-Chair and has enjoyed volunteering with her home parish of St. Ignatius in Austin.

In her spare time, she enjoys anything outdoors, being with friends, music, and has completed 10 full marathons and over 30 half marathons.  Additionally, time with family is important especially her grandchildren in Texas and Washington States.

Jenna Tubbs

Jenna Tubbs earned her Bachelor of Science, with a major in Athletic Training, from Ball State University in 1996.  She extended her experience being Graduate Assistant for Central Michigan, graduating in 1998.  

Jenna has worked with Houston Methodist since 1998.  She was contracted to Dickinson HS, but now continues outreach for the hospital.

Jenna’s volunteer work includes the TSATA Secondary School Committee since its inception, American Legion Scholarship Chair, and numerous youth programs. 

Ms. Tubbs is committed to service and the promotion of Athletic Training. I was blessed to have her on the Secondary School Committee while serving as it chair.  Her work ethic was second to none.  

Jenna is a 2019 recipeint of the John Harvey Humanitarian Award and has been a Spotlight AT.
