Board of Directors
The TSATA is governed by a Board of Directors (BOD) in cooperation with an Executive Director. The BOD are Texas Licensed Athletic Trainers (LATs) that are elected to serve as representatives from each of the State’s nine regions.

Executive Director
Andrea Green, DAT, LAT, ATC
Tarleton State University
Andi Johnston Green is completing her 30th year as a credentialed athletic trainer. A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Andi grew up in Greenville, Texas as the youngest of Lt. Commandeer (Retired) Jack Johnston and Helen Johnston's 5 children. She received her BS from Tarleton State University where she worked under the guidance of Dr. Steven Simpson. Andi then completed her M.Ed. at Southwest Texas State University while working for SportCare/HealthSouth providing care for Concordia University - Texas as well as local high schools on a prn basis.
Starting in 1995, Dr. Green began working for the Hays Consolidated ISD first at Jack C. Hays HS as an Assistant AT and then at Lehman HS where she served as the Head AT, Sports Medicine Instructor, as well as Girls' Athletic Coordinator. After one semester at Austin HS, she returned to Lehman as a Health Science Instructor, a position she held until 2015 when she joined the faculty at Texas State University. While working at Texas State, Andi served as the Iota Tau Alpha sponsor while teaching a variety of athletic training classes and. It was during this time that Dr. Green returned to school and earned her DAT from AT Still University in 2019.
Upon graduation from AT Still, Dr. Green returned to Tarleton State as an Assistant Professor for their MSAT program. Since she has arrived on campus, Andi has been named Program Director as well as currently serves as Chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance.
Andi's service to the athletic training profession has included time as a member of the AAATA including serving as contests chair as well as the President in 2006-2007. She additionally has held positions in the CTATS organization including public relations as well as her current role as Stephenville/Brownwood area representative. Andi has volunteered with SWATA and NATA with symposium registrations and setup. Dr. Green currently serves the TSATA on both the Sport Medicine Curriculum Committee and the Education Committee working towards Apprentice Endorsement.
Outside of the profession, Andi has been active with the Hays County Relay for Life serving several years as the event Co-Chair and has enjoyed volunteering with her home parish of St. Ignatius in Austin.
In her spare time, she enjoys anything outdoors, being with friends, music, and has completed 10 full marathons and over 30 half marathons. Additionally, time with family is important especially her grandchildren in Texas and Washington States.

Region 1
Christopher Lopez
Socorro ISD
Christopher Lopez, MS, LAT, ATC, CES, BAMF has been a certified Athletic Trainer since 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he studied under Head Athletic Trainer Dawn Hearn. In 2008, he completed his Master of Science degree at California University of Pennsylvania.
Chris began his career with the San Elizario Independent School District, serving as an athletic trainer and teacher at San Elizario High School. In 2012, he joined the Socorro Independent School District at El Dorado High School. In 2015, he became the founding athletic trainer at the newly opened Pebble Hills High School.
In 2020, Chris transitioned into the district athletic office at Socorro ISD, where he currently serves as the District Athletic Trainer. In this role, he oversees athletic training services for six high schools and leads a team of 12 licensed athletic trainers. He also develops and implements a comprehensive injury and illness prevention program for student-athletes across 15 middle schools.
Chris has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 20 years, and they have one daughter, Kristine. When he’s not working, he’s likely watching a game—because even off the field, he can’t resist analyzing plays and calling timeouts from the couch.

Region 2
Annette Franco, MEd, LAT
Abilene ISD
Incoming Board Member - July 2025
Annette Franco was born and raised in Monahans, Texas and graduated from Monahans High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Studies with a minor in Biology and obtained a teaching certificate from Tarleton State University in 1992. In 1994, she obtained a Master’s degree in education from Tarleton State University.
After graduation in 1994, she became the Athletic Trainer at Abilene Cooper High School. She worked there for 25 years. In 2019, she became the 1st Sports Medicine Coordinator for the Abilene ISD school District and is still in this position currently and is on year 32.
She has been a member of N.A.T.A and S.W.A.T.A for 35 years and a member of T.S.A.T.A . She served on the S.W.A.T.A Honors and Awards Committee under Everett Blackburn. She was the T.S.A.T.A Spotlight recipient for Region 2 in December 2020. She was a T.S.A.T.A Region 2 Hall of Honor Inductee in 2022. She received the Everett Blackburn Buckle Award at the Everett Blackburn Rockin’ Rodeo Sports Medicine Clinic. She is currently serving on the WTSMS Board as the Abilene and San Angelo representative. She enjoys mentoring Athletic Training students from different University programs. She also enjoys teaching High School students and anyone who wants to learn anything about Athletic Training.

Jeremy Davis, LAT
TSATA TREASURER
Jeremy Davis is the Athletic Trainer for Shallowater Independent School District, and is currently serving in his 23rd year of his career. Prior to working full time in Shallowater, he was at Lubbock Sports Medicine. While at LSM, he was the DME/Bracing coordinator, supply manager and was contracted by Shallowater ISD for 14 years, before becoming a full time member of their staff in 2020. After graduating from Lovington High School, (Lovington, NM) Jeremy earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from The University of the Southwest, and his Master’s of Science degree from Texas Tech University. Apart from being the Athletic Trainer for Shallowater High School, Jeremy is the instructor for the Sports Medicine course as well. During his career, he has had the opportunity to use his athletic training skills for several school districts, such as, Clovis High School (Clovis, NM), Red Oak High School (Red Oak, TX), and was contracted through Covenant Sportscare for Hale Center High School (Hale Center, TX). Jeremy also spent one season working with the Evansville Otters Baseball Club in the independent Frontier League in Evansville, IN. During his spare time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Jeremy and his wife, Lori, have two children, Chloe and Jonah.

Casey Marie Reed, MHA, LAT, OTC

SWATA - TEXAS REPRESENTATIVE
Casey Reed, MHA, LAT, OTC completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of North Texas in 2009 and her Master of Healthcare Administration from Capella University in 2020. In the first four years as the Sports Medicine Coordinator for Christus Good Shepherd Health System, she doubled the program size and transformed it into the area’s premier provider of athletic training and sports medicine services. Additionally, she increased free continuing education offerings to area athletic trainers, students, and healthcare providers by 342%. Currently, they provide athletic training outreach services to 30 area schools and community sports, impacting 10,000 lives each day. Under her leadership, Athletic Trainers at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd have integrated into the operating room and the tactical/fire department setting. She is most proud to have contributed to the advocacy and expansion of the athletic training profession in East Texas, specifically in rural communities. Healthcare equality and access for area athletes is one of her passions to contribute to both the individual and community’s health and success. Before her move to East Texas, she worked in the NCAA Division 1 setting and private orthopedic practices.
Casey enjoys spending time with her husband (also an athletic trainer) and their two daughters. She is an avid baseball fan and is happiest when on the water with friends and family.
She currently serves as the Texas Rep to the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association (SWATA) Board.

Region 6
Christopher M. Shaddock, LAT, ATC
Houston Methodist Sugar Land
Chris Shaddock, LAT, ATC, currently serves as the Manager of Athletic Training Services at Houston Methodist since May 2021. Prior to this role, Chris accumulated extensive experience in athletic training within various institutions, including serving as Head Athletic Trainer at Dawson High School in Pearland ISD from July 2005 to April 2021 and taking on roles as Assistant Athletic Trainer at both Dawson High School and Pearland High School. Earlier career experiences include positions as Head Athletic Trainer at Bryan High School and Assistant Athletic Trainer at both Humble High School and Bryan High School. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University, earned in May 1999. Chris is the recipient of the 2025 Southwest Athletic Trainers Association Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award and currently serves on the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association Board of Directors.

Region 7
Bre'Layshia Alexander, MEd, LAT, ATC
Baylor Scott and White Health
Bre’Layshia Alexander M.Ed, LAT, ATC, is the Athletic Training Supervisor for Baylor Scott and White Roney Bone and Joint Institute in Temple, Texas. Bre’Layshia is from Temple, Texas and a proud alumni of Temple High School and its student athletic training program. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Texas State University and her Master of Education Degree in Sports Administration from Concordia University.
Following her undergraduate studies, Bre’Layshia returned to her alma mater, Temple ISD, and worked as a Science/Principles of Health Science Teacher and Athletic Trainer for the school district during the 2013-2016 school years. In August of 2016, Bre’Layshia started working for SportsCare USA as a liaison for the Roney Bone and Joint Institute. Through this role she also served as the athletic trainer for Marlin ISD during the 2017-2019 school years, where she was fortunate to meet her husband Ali Alexander.
In May of 2022, SportsCare USA’s contract with Baylor Scott and White came to an end. Bre’Layshia was able to stay on board with the clinic in a new role of Supervisor of the Athletic Training Program serving the Temple Market.
Bre’Layshia is very passionate about the profession and currently serves as the Central Texas Athletic Trainer’s Association Vice President, SWATA Career Advancement Chair, NATA D6 Career Advancement Representative, and numerous community organizations.

Brian A Zettler, MS, MEd, LAT, ATC, CSCS, NASM-CES, NASM-PES
Comal ISD
TSATA VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
"BZ" coordinates sports medicine coverage for Comal ISD schools in New Braunfels,TX and is based out of Smithson Valley High School. A graduate of Waxahachie High School, he earned his Bachelors of Science in Bio Medical Science from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Science in Kinesiology and a Masters of Education from the University of North Texas. He actively volunteers as a medical provider for USA Basketball and concurrently serves as a sports medicine advisor to the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL. His interests include helping develop a mobile app - NUI Sport - targeting the mental health and resilience of student athletes, coaches and athletic trainers. In 2022 he was elected to the Texas State Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Directors and in 2023, was a key contributor to the passing of Texas' 88th legislative session H.B.2512 - Athletic Training Practice Act. He was re-elected to the Board in 2024. BZ also serves as a preceptor for numerous universities in Texas. In June 2017, he stepped down as Head Athletic Trainer for the Utah Jazz after having served 20 years in the NBA. He also managed the Jazz equipment from 2004-2014 and helped coordinate the strength program. Prior to his time with the Jazz, he served as an assistant athletic trainer with the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys. A native of Waxahachie, Texas, he is married to his high school sweetheart, Hope and has 4 children: Sophie, Lenzy, Bailey and Alex. In his spare time, he can probably be found on a river in the hill country and listening to Texas country.

Bradley S. Dixon, MA, LAT, ATC
San Felipe Del Rio CISD
Incoming Board Member - July 2025
Bradley Dixon has been the head athletic trainer for San Felipe Del Rio CISD for the last 28 years. Before that, he did two years of clinical outreach with Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville, Texas.
Brad has been licensed and certified since 1995.
Brad is a Bryan Texas high school graduate, received his bachelors from Texas A&M in College Station and his masters from Sam Houston State University, where he began his athletic training experiences.
Brad has been married to Patricia Chavez Dixon for 31 years and they have three sons, Mitchell, Derek, Bryan.
His biggest hope is that he has given every student-athlete the ability to compete to their fullest, and with the most fun possible.

Britney Kate Webb, MEd, LAT, ATC
Texas State University - San Marcos
Britney Kate Parker-Webb, M.Ed. LAT, ATC, Professor of Instruction at Texas State University as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Master’s in Athletic Training (MSAT) program, has been a proud Licensed Athletic Trainer since 1997 and certified since 2004. She has been employed at Texas State University since 2006.
Britney graduated magna cum laude from Tarleton State University, where she also earned her Master of Education while serving as a graduate assistant under the direction of Steve Simpson
As a dedicated Texas Athletic Trainer, Britney has worked as the Athletic Trainer for Abilene Christian University and Granbury High School. She has also worked as a Contract Athletic Trainer for Baird High School, Hays High School, Texas State University, San Marcos Academy, St. Edward's University, San Marcos High School, and the Texas Charter School's Athletic League. In addition, she has also served as an Athletic Trainer for Texas High School Girls All-Star, Mesquite Professional Rodeo, and the West Texas Fair and Rodeo.
Britney is dedicated to serving her profession. She is an active member of the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA), the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), and the Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA). Her contributions to NATA include serving on the Women in Athletic Training Committee and the Honors and Awards Committee, as well as participating as a convention moderator. Within SWATA, she has held several leadership roles, including liaison to the Life Balancing Committee for the SWATA Work Options Program, Chair of both the Life Balancing Committee and the Women in Athletic Training Committee (WATC), and convention moderator. At the state level, she has contributed to Hit the Hill efforts in Austin and currently serves as an instructor for TSATA’s Sports Medicine courses, Parliamentarian for TSATA, and Chairwoman of the Athletic Training Advisory Board under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Britney has been honored for her contributions to the athletic training profession with the TSATA Hall of Honor, recognized by SWATA with the James Dodson New Horizon Award, the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award, the Eddie Wojecki Award, the Excellence in Athletic Training Award, and most recently, induction into the Hall of Fame. At the national level, she received the NATA Athletic Training Service Award and was noted as a 35-year member of the association. At the community level, her impact has been celebrated with the Texas State University Presidential Distinction Award in Service, a Life Saving Award from the San Marcos Police Department, and a Civilian Certificate of Commendation from the San Marcos Fire Department. She was also recognized by Tarleton State University as the 2015 Outstanding Young Alumnus.
Of all her achievements, Britney considers her greatest honor to be the proud mother of her three exceptional sons—Gunner, Kannon, and Kutter-Gage. She lives by the moto her mother Carolyn Lesley instilled in her; “Leave it better than you found it”.

Tiffany Nicole Emerson, MSAT, LAT, ATC
Spring Hill ISD
Tiffany Emerson is currently serving as our TSATA Secretary. She is beginning her seventh year in the profession. This is her fifth year as an athletic trainer at Spring Hill High School in Longview, Texas. She is a native of Mansfield, TX. Tiffany earned her Masters Degree in Athletic Training from Tarleton State University in 2019; where she became nationally certified and state licensed. She is also an alumni of Odessa College and Texas State University. She is married to her husband Landon of three years and they have a three month old son named Barrett.
